Head of Group Benefits
Jonathan Bennett is the head of Group Benefits at The Hartford, which provides group non-medical insurance products and services to employers and their employees, as well as to members of associations and other groups. He is responsible for the strategic direction, management oversight and financial results of the business.
The Hartford is a leading provider of fully insured group life, disability and supplemental health insurance, paid family and medical leave insurance, as well as absence management administration. Group Benefits serves businesses of all sizes, from those with two employees to Fortune 10 employers. Across all product lines and services, Group Benefits serves more than 20 million individuals throughout the United States.
Bennett has held numerous leadership positions during his multi-decade career with The Hartford, including roles across Finance and Strategy for Property and Casualty and Group Benefits, Digital Commerce and Customer Analytics, and Personal Lines and Small Commercial.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Bennett worked in the Individual Insurance and Retirement Divisions of CIGNA and was an auditor and consultant with Arthur Andersen, LLP.
Bennett serves on the boards of the ACLI Group Insurance Executive Council and MetroHartford Alliance. He received a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hartford and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Connecticut College. He is also a CPA.
