Does My Youth Sports Program Need Insurance?
Children gain many benefits from playing on sports teams, yet the risk of an accident is always present. Whether it’s a brace for a twisted knee, bandages for stitches or even more serious injuries, the costs of sports injuries can be significant. Our Youth Spots Insurance helps protect children who play on teams or recreation leagues. A youth sports insurance policy from The Hartford can help pay for medical care and treatment of injuries from a covered sports accident. A covered accident could take place:
- While participating in a scheduled game, official tournament or practice session as a member of a team
- While traveling directly to or from such game or practice session
Who Is Eligible for Youth Sports Insurance?
Any organization engaged principally in the play or practice of sports with participants up to age 18 is eligible for youth sports insurance from The Hartford. Under certain conditions, we may consider writing coverage for participants age 19 and older.
